L'ascia è uno dei più antichi attrezzi di falegnameria, utile per tagliare la legna, ma usata anche come arma. Simile ad un'accetta, inizialmente era formata da una testa di selce legata ad un manico di legno, successivamente vennero costruite utilizzando metalli, quali il ferro, il rame e il bronzo.

The adze is one of the oldest woodworking tools, useful for cutting the wood, but also used as a weapon. Similar to an ax, was initially formed by a head of flint attached to a wooden handle, and were then constructed using metals such as iron, copper and bronze.
